The only concern I have with the popularity of these sites is that this may seriously widen the digital divide. As men from internet savvy families get married to women from internet savvy families only, a sub-species may evolve. As evolution takes charge and in-breeding among internet savvy populations reach incestuous proportions, will this new sub-species have drastically different traits from the homo-sapiens we know?

Very unlikely that the tech savy section will be different. There are many profs in top univs don't know much about computers or programming. Shaadi.com is just electronic version of sunday matrimonial columns of the newspapers. Do you see any significant difference between those who read newspapers and those don't ? The digital divide has given rise to another Small world phenomenon. Have you seen any different traits in families which already live in Small Socialogical World (e.g., Sindhis families, Bollywood families) ? Differences might be evident in the forms of psychological build, technological awareness and skill. Evolution in homo-sapiens if has to happen will need another thousand years if not million years.
There are some implications nevertheless: a) Tech savy girls (who are usually less prettier) will find grooms easily.
b) If all the participating girls and guys build their rankings of opposite gender profiles, it will very likely lead to a solution of Stable Marriage problem.

Sorry, I didn't mean to say Tech savy girls have to less prettier. I meant, those who are with (due respect). I also used Tech savy loosely and my apologies for that.
Empirical observation shows (no scientific proof available) that girls in the engineering colleges (Tech savy) are less prettier than those studying in non-engineering colleges.
